Anti-Inflammatory Diet For Atherosclerosis / Heart Disease

Overall, most medical and health experts support following an anti-inflammatory diet to treat and prevent heart diseases.

Current research and studies conducted support this direction given that the findings have shown a clear connection between inflammation and an increased risks of heart attacks and strokes.

However, some professionals believe that additional scientific research and evidence are still needed in order to confirm that the anti-inflammatory diet can prevent and treat cardiovascular disease CVD.

More research is currently undergone on this matter in order to come up with final and better evidence to understand how all this works.

Opinion of in favor of following an anti-inflammatory diet to treat cardiovascular diseases:

There are numerous research and studies that suggests that inflammation can increase the risks of heart attacks and strokes.   Accordingly, many medical and health experts agree that the anti-inflammatory diet can reduce inflammation, and hence can contribute in treating and preventing CVD.

This is supported by research and scientific evidence that support the fact that replacing high fat, and high sugar processed and refined foods would decrease inflammation.
Furthermore, consuming fresh and wholefoods that have anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties can help in fighting inflammation and lowering the risks of CVD.

Skeptical views about following an anti-inflammatory diet to treat cardiovascular diseases:

There’s no real opposition against following an anti-inflammatory diet to treat and prevent CVD because after all, this diet is a very healthy food regimen to consider. This is supported by the fact that it restricts all fats and processed foods which can be very harmful for health.

Furthermore, most medical and health experts agree that most of the foods recommended have actually shown anti-inflammatory effects by decreasing CRP and other inflammatory markers.

However, according to some experts, this doesn’t conclude that the anti-inflammatory diet can really prevent or treat CVD by treating inflammation.

Accordingly, they claim that there’s not enough research and detailed data in particular about this matter. Hence, some medical experts find it challenging to believe that certain foods can really treat some medical conditions and diseases such as cardiovascular disease CVD.
