Overall, there is a wide agreement among nutritionists and medical experts about the benefits of following an anti-inflammatory diet for eczema.
However, some medical professionals still reject this claim as they believe that food does not affect eczema. They also require additional scientific research and evidence in order to confirm that the anti-inflammatory diet can treat and relieve eczema symptoms.
At this stage, there is little official research conducted to support this claim. However, there are many published individual cases for patients who tried the anti-inflammatory diet and were successful in healing eczema.
Currently, some more research is being undergone on this matter in order to come up with final and better evidence to understand how all this works.
There are numerous statements and medical evidences supporting this as well by showing that an anti-inflammatory diet can actually help in relieving eczema symptoms.
This is also reinforced by the fact that replacing high fat, high sugar, processed and refined foods by fresh and wholefoods that are consumed in the anti-inflammatory diet can actually decrease inflammation, which in turn can reduce the eczema symptoms.
The opponents of the anti-inflammation diet to treat eczema reject the claim suggesting that food can affect eczema as they believe eczema is an auto-immune disease that has nothing to do with the food we eat.
Subsequently, some of these medical experts agree that some foods have actually shown anti-inflammatory effects by decreasing CRP and other inflammatory markers. However, according to them, this doesn’t conclude that the anti-inflammatory diet can really treat or relieve the symptoms of eczema which is mainly an inflammation of the skin.
Accordingly, they claim that there’s not enough research and detailed data in particular about this matter. Hence, some medical experts find it challenging to believe that certain foods can really treat some medical conditions and diseases such as eczema.
