Practice social distancing for COVID-19

When someone coughs sneezes, or speaks they spray small liquid droplets from their nose or mouth which may contain the virus in the air.

To avoid spreading the virus, people should maintain social distancing, also called “physical distancing."

According to the WHO, this means keeping a safe space of at least 1 meter (about 3 feet) between yourself and other people.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommend that people keep a distance of 6 feet or more (1.5 to 2 meters) to prevent the spread of the virus.
