How Does Hypnosis Work for Acne Treatment? — Transcendental Meditation | Life Coach - Jessica Boston
People are increasingly using hypnosis for acne treatment or skin issues. Sometimes this is their main therapy goal, and sometimes it’s a happy secondary consequence after treating other issues.
In any case, hypnotherapy is showing promising results and is very efficient as a complementary or alternative option to skin care.
How is Hypnotherapy used to treat skin issues?
Hypnotherapy uses the heightened awareness of the hypnotic state to help you explore your subconscious.
During hypnotherapy, you remain in control of your actions. The hypnotherapist cannot force anyone to do something against their will, even under hypnosis. So, hypnosis is very far from what you’ve probably seen on TV or videos about hypnotist performers.
During the hypnotic state, you are deeply relaxed and therefore more receptive to the images or memories that come to mind. Your conscious mind is not interfering but allowing your unconscious mind to focus on your issue - like acne or other skin issues - and address the feelings that come up.
I’ve helped some of my clients with their adult acne treatment with hypnotherapy.
Check out Anna’s article, How I (Almost) Cured My Adult Acne Problem With Gluten & Lactose Free Diet And Hypnotherapy. She explains, very eloquently, her journey looking for adult acne treatment, and how she discovered what lay behind her acne through our sessions.
For Anna, acne was an act of rebellion. However, the ‘purpose’ of your acne could be very different for you.
Every person has a different history, and from my experience with clients, acne (as any other issue) can have diverse origins. By having this information, you can bring light to the issue and it gets much easier to treat it effectively.
