Benefits of Cupping Therapy
March 2019
Dr. Lisa Corsa, Physical Therapy, Osteopathy and Athletic Training with Premier Therapy Solutions, says cupping therapy has been around for so many years in Chinese medicine. "It moves stagnated fluid; when you do not move it, you lose it. The tissue and the blood flow gets stagnated, so when you suck up the skin, you also are sucking up the thin layer of connected tissue under the skin to help release the pressure to remove the dead tissues, to remove the dead fluid, and improve the circulation."
She points out it is a fantastic modality, not just for athletes, but for people playing softball with their friends on weekends, for example.
