An enlarged prostate (also known as Benign prostatic hyperplasia) is a relatively common condition that increases in prevalence as men get older. Certain lifestyle and day-to-day activities (including use of certain medications and consumption of certain foods) can influence the growth of the prostate, worsen associated symptoms of an enlarged prostate, and possibly increase the risk of prostate cancer. In this lesson, we discuss these various lifestyle choices and strategies in order to prevent and reduce symptoms of an enlarged prostate and possibly reduce the risk of prostate cancer.
