Advice

It is preferable to have a routine you use every night that turns the process of going to sleep into a habit.  Sleep is a natural phenomenon that occurs in every living thing, so the aim of this hypnosis session for insomnia is to get you back in touch with this phenomenon rather create a new method of going to sleep.

Here are some useful tips to keep in mind:

Make sure you are comfortable, have been to the toilet and have finished your daily activities.

Close your eyes and focus on your breathing.  Do this for a few minutes noticing the regularity, the way it happens automatically.

Focus on the out-breath and associate it with a feeling of floating.  Imagine a leaf floating down from a tree; imagine how the leaf feels.

Notice different parts of your body relaxing as you focus on the floating feeling.

Feel the change from an 'active attitude' useful in the day to a 'passive, not caring attitude' necessary for sleep.

As you become more relaxed imagine a safe, comfortable, tranquil place where you would like to be.

Imagine being in that place doing exactly what you want, knowing you are completely in charge and can alter it to suit your needs.

Stay in that place maintaining a feeling of safety, comfort and relaxation and in your own time you will drift into a natural sleep.
