Uric acid gathers at strategic points if the body's pH balance is off. Alkaline water could be the difference between joint pains and a smooth bend.

Cheyenne, Wyoming -- “Water, water everywhere, not a drop to drink” is the most famous line from “The Rime of the Ancient Mariner” by Samuel Taylor Coleridge and while most people don’t have a clue what it’s like to be a sailor stranded at sea, most can relate to feeling parched but faced with the dreaded option of drinking water from a tap at one point or another. Staying hydrated is of the utmost importance but poor quality water could cause more harm than good when too much acidity is simultaneously introduced.

“If your body functions the way it’s supposed to, the uric acid dissolves and passes out of your body quickly through your urine via your kidneys,” explains Health Alkaline. “However, if your body is producing too much uric acid, or your kidneys are not flushing them out fast enough, the uric acid just builds up and stores in your body. Then you’re left with sharp urate crystals which look like needles. They begin to develop in your joints and surrounding tissue, causing excruciating pain, inflammation and swelling.”

Now, while the municipal supply is treated for general safety, it isn’t the best for consumption which doesn’t seem like a big deal until it’s highlighted that exclusively drinking alkaline water could help avoid the developing of gout which is caused by excess acid.

“Uric acid is nearly insoluble in water, alcohol and ether, but soluble in solutions of alkaline salts. In other words, it becomes soluble in alkaline water,” details TheGoutKiller.com. “Arthritis and gout are caused by uric acid deposited between the joints, non-dissolved due to the low alkalinity [especially] of an older person’s blood. Drinking acid free ionized alkaline water will gradually elevate one’s blood pH and the gout will disappear naturally.”

So gout is quite similar to arthritis and can be more or less cured by staying well hydrated with alkaline water to ensure the body’s internal pH level is on point. It’s amazing how much drinking the wrong type of water can leave one susceptible to a host of illnesses and conversely, the right type of water can help the body diminish or totally circumvent ailments.

“Water is one of the best and simplest home remedies for gout. Water is passed out of your urine, sweat, breathing, perspiring while working and it doesn’t stress the vital organs like the liver and kidneys and so on. Since water can serve as a joint lubricant, one who is at risk for gout should be sure to drink plenty of fluids. Drinking a half-gallon of water a day may keep gout attacks away. The recommended approximate amount is 8–12 eight fluid ounce glasses daily, (a glass/cup consisting of 8 oz. or 250 ml) or about eight glasses. If you’re not sure how much eight fluid ounces is exactly, observe how much by pouring water into a measuring cup.”

The volume, frequency and quality of water consumed all play a key role in keeping gout and other sicknesses at bay. To be sure alkaline water flows from the kitchen faucet each and every time, it’s worth investing in a device such as the HealthyWiser™ Alkaline Water Ionizer Machine powered by a dual filtration system and platinum coated 9-cell electrodes.
